Come join us Wednesday October 24, from 6:00 to 7:30PM at the Studio for a free chat and slide show on the furniture designs of Greene & Greene. Over 100 years ago these two California architects developed a furniture style that still has broad reaching effects. Influenced partly by Gustav Stickley and the Arts and Crafts movement, partly by Chinese furniture and Japanese temple design, and with the more subtle influences of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Louis Comfort Tiffany, and the Art Nouveau movement, their designs are classic, textural, and inviting. Join us as Gary Rogowski, Director of The Studio, talks about their designs and then takes us on a photographic tour of the furniture of the Gamble House in Pasadena and the collection of their work at the Huntington Museum.
The Northwest Woodworking Studio is located at 1002 SE 8th ave in Portland, Oregon.
