Musee des Arts et Metiers in Paris’ 3rd arrondisement is considered a conservatory of inventions. It is not listed in any museum search. Yet it houses one of the best collections of forms and sculptures masquerading as ideas for commerce to be seen in Paris. Join The Northwest Woodworking Studio as they host another DESIGN: Open House on May 21st from 6 to 7:30pm at 1002 SE 8th Ave to show images and talk about the magic of Le Musee.
Over the past several years, Gary Rogowski, Director of the Studio traveled to Paris and visited and wrote about the Musee. He will show his images from the many tours he took of the Musee and its reserve collection with the chief restorer. It is an amazing collection of images and Gary will talk about how this work influences his own as a furniture designer, maker, and teacher. This event is free and open to the public.
